“Criteria for Cleaner Production Technologies in Vietnamese Industrial Branches - scientific monitoring of engineering developments”

Fraunhofer UMSICHT conducts applied research in the field of wastewater treatment for the interdisciplinary project “Local IWRM in Nam Dinh” in close cooperation with the University of Greifswald and iaks. The objective of this subproject is to work out and implement adapted and transferable models in Vietnam for the following four project parts:

  •  Industrial concept 1 (rural industrial sites)
  •  Industrial concept 2 (urban industrial areas)
  •  Wastewater treatment plant 1 (rural areas)
  •  Wastewater treatment plant 2 (urban areas)

Production processes will be optimized and adapted regarding emissions and pollution using Cleaner Production (CP) methods and on the basis of state-of–the-art wastewater treatment technologies and concepts. A workshop series will support the implementation of the results and the experience exchange among decision makers and German and Vietnamese researchers.
