Management of water monitoring in CanTho

The Project focuses on the implementation of a coordinated water monitoring system using WEB based GIS. The Platform for the management of water quality data was developed and designed by the German company MOSKITO GIS GmbH.

MOSKITO GIS is based on different software modules and has a very open and flexible structure. Hence this software solution offers great opportunities to meet various demands concerning the management of environmental data.

In a first step the system was introduced to several Departments of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) in the Mekong Delta in 2007. After the implementation to the local authorities the Webbased GIS was continuously being enhanced and developed in cooperation with the University of Bonn, the University of Can Tho and the local partners. It contributes now to an improved communication and data exchange between different departments and provinces located at Hau River.
